What hotkey is

hotkey reads your birth chart and your Human Design key, calculated from the date, time and place of your birth, and turns them into readings, guides and answers about your life. It is a tool to know yourself better and to choose how you act. It never says what will happen, and it never decides for you.

If you don’t know your birth time, your chart is calculated at noon. Your rising sign, your houses and your key may then be wrong, and the app tells you so.

How your readings are written

The texts written for you (your portrait, the bigger picture, Today’s hand and its chapters, your deep readings, the answers in Ask and the outfit verdict) are written with AI, from your calculated chart and your key. They are written by models of Anthropic, a company that makes AI, then checked by another model. Ask’s answers appear as they are written, and an answer the check refuses is replaced. Our team reads a random sample of them each week to keep their quality.

The texts that are the same for everyone (the cards, the guides, the onboarding and The Cosmic Edit) were drafted with AI and are read and approved by our team before they reach you.

Texts written with AI can be wrong, or say something that doesn’t fit you. Take what speaks to you and leave the rest.

What hotkey is not

hotkey doesn’t predict the future. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it replaces no doctor, therapist, lawyer or adviser. Don’t make a health, legal or money decision on the strength of a reading.

Ask is not a crisis or medical service. When a question sounds like a crisis or a medical or legal matter, Ask answers with where to find help instead of a reading. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.

Your account

hotkey is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it. You sign in with your email address and a code we send to it, with no password, so use an address only you can read. Your account is yours alone and is not meant to be shared.

Free and Premium

The start of everything is free: Today with the first chapter of Read more, Cards with the first chapter of each deep reading, the first part of every guide, three questions on the house in Ask, and all of The Cosmic Edit.

Premium opens the rest: every chapter of Read more, every guide in full, the deep readings, and Ask without the three-question limit, up to 30 questions a day. Premium is $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year in US dollars, or £12.99 a month or £69.99 a year in the UK. You pay through Stripe, on its secure payment page. When your bank asks you to confirm a payment, you confirm it there.

The free days

The yearly plan starts with 3 free days, if you’ve never had Premium on this account. We ask for your card at the start. On day 2 we email you a reminder with the date and the amount. On day 3, the year is charged, unless you cancelled before. The monthly plan has no free days: it is charged at once.

Renewal

Premium renews by itself at the end of each month or year, at the price shown in your profile, until you cancel.

Changing plan

You can switch between monthly and yearly in your profile, unless you’ve cancelled: take the cancellation back first. The new plan starts at once and is charged at once, less what is left of the period you already paid. Going from yearly to monthly, what is left of your year becomes credit that pays your next months until it runs out. During the free days, a change keeps them: the new plan is charged when they end.

Cancelling

You cancel in two clicks, in your profile, under your plan. Premium stays open until the end of the period you already paid, and nothing more is charged. During the free days, it stays open until they end, and you are not charged at all. Until that date, you can take the cancellation back from your profile.

Deleting your account stops Premium at once, and nothing more is charged.

When a payment fails

If a payment doesn’t go through, Premium is paused until a card pays it. You give a new card with “Update card” in your profile, on Stripe’s page. If you cancel while Premium is paused, it ends at once and the payment that failed is not taken.

Deep readings bought on their own

Without Premium, you can buy one deep reading (your full chart, you in love, or you at work) for $9.99, or £9.99 in the UK, paid once. It stays open to you, with or without Premium, for as long as your account exists.

Refunds

If something went wrong with a payment, write to us at hello@presshotkey.com and we’ll look at it with you. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer.

Using hotkey fairly

The texts written for you are for your own use. Don’t try to get around the limits of Ask, to break the app, or to make it write something harmful. For the outfit check, send a photo of your own outfit only: never of someone else without their agreement, never of a child, and never a nude photo. The outfit check judges clothes, colours and materials, never your body, your weight or your face.

Availability

We do our best to keep hotkey running, but we can’t promise it will be there every minute. An interruption never deletes what the app has kept for you.

Changes

These terms can change. When a change matters to you, we email you before it takes effect.
